In 1979, I would meet the love of my life, Mary Troy, born and raised near Birr, County Offaly, Ireland. I would marry her there on April 20, 1981.

Despite not a drop of Irish in me, I would fall deeply in love with all things Irish.

My daughter, Tara, would become the Philadelphia “Rose of Tralee” in 2017.

It’s my fondest hope that after so many visits to that wee-little Island in the North Atlantic, the good Lord will grant me at least one more. If so, it’s my fondest wish to stand where one of my favorite scenes in my all-time favorite Irish movie was filmed:

May you have a most blessed St. Patrick’s Day.

Erin go bragh!
