Teen-Founded Organization Adds Grandich as Official Board Member

Freehold, N.J. (April 21, 2022) – Since being founded by two Monmouth County, New Jersey teens in March 2020, 5Help Foundation 501(c)(3) has undergone explosive growth over the past two years. 5Help has raised more than $300,000 while helping thousands of individuals and animals locally, nationally and internationally. The organization has been featured by major news and media outlets across the globe for its innovative approach and double power donations that have been changing lives, $5 at a time.

Their biggest supporter since day one has been Peter Grandich, who is known around the financial world as the Former Wall Street Whiz Kid. As 5Help gears up to expand its chapters and impact both nationally and globally, it is no wonder that teen co-founders and siblings, Drew and Heather Paglia, along with their young adult partner, Tim Rohrer of Tips4Inclusion, have turned to their mentor to help lead them into this next stage of growth.

Grandich and his firm, Peter Grandich and Company, officially announced today that he will be volunteering his full support to 5Help Foundation, assisting the teen-run nonprofit organization in the areas of strategic planning, marketing and business development.

“After spending nearly 40 years in and around the financial arena, I have clearly entered into the twilight of my professional career,” said Peter Grandich, Managing Member of Peter Grandich and Company. “Yearning to utilize my experience and network to significantly enhance an already most worthy cause, it is without question that the good Lord is directing my wife and I to assist 5Help Foundation to the fullest extent of our ability.

“Proverbs 3:27 says ‘Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.’ I truly hope we can assist 5Help in taking their foundation to another level because there are so many people and organizations that can benefit from their incredible work.”

Through this strategic partnership, Grandich will use his vast business experience and personal network to provide heightened exposure to 5Help. Since the onset of the COVID pandemic, 5Help has grown its volunteer base and used 100% of all donations to help in areas of need and crisis for seniors, veterans, the homeless population, special needs individuals, foster kids, struggling families and small businesses, refugees, front line heroes and animals. 5Help also has a chapter in Fresno, California, that was founded by Ellie Gonzalez, which has been having a major impact in the Fresno area.

18-year-old co-founder, Drew Paglia, is currently preparing to graduate high school from The Lawrenceville School and begin his college studies in the fall. With this transition occurring, he recognizes the need to bring in a seasoned professional whom he trusts to help him fulfill his goal of bringing 5Help chapters to schools and colleges across the country.

“Mr. Grandich has been there to mentor and help us since the beginning, and he is an incredible person who we respect and look up to,” said Drew Paglia. “We are at the juncture where we need to secure corporate sponsorships and obtain large grant funding if we want to efficiently duplicate our efforts across the U.S. and internationally. This will require a much higher level of backend operational support and a solid team of technical, accounting and legal professionals to ensure our fundraising and chapters are compliant with all governmental and fiscal regulations.”

While this evolution will bring new developments to 5Help, Paglia confirmed that the core principles of the foundation will remain the same.

“We intend to still have 100% of all individual donations go towards helping others, which has not been an easy feat as costs for website development, having our own fundraising platform, accounting costs and promotional items for volunteers continue to mount,” he continued. “My parents have personally funded our entire back-end operations, and we have worked from our home and utilized our garage space as well as the house of Tim’s mother. This has worked out great to keep our costs relatively low, but we have been inhibited by the space and manpower we have at our disposal. We currently support over 50 other nonprofits and governmental agencies, and with school and other extracurricular activities, it has been a lot to manage and support with no working budget. We are excited that Mr. Grandich will take on a big role in 5Help so we can rapidly scale and help even more people in need.”
