The best friend I will ever have, Bill Wegner, whose passing has left a permanent hole in my heart, built a Catholic ministry on the foundation he believed Jesus’s ministry was – Mercy, Love, and Forgiveness. He would often tell me despite me not wanting to hear it, that I will never have real rest until I seek true forgiveness from any and all that I was hurt by, and visa-versa.
How right Bill ended up being. Ever since doing so, daily life is not dragged down by the dead weight from the anger that lived in my heart and soul.
There are going to be all sorts of New Year Resolutions and advice to make life better.
Please let me tell you to put forgiveness at the top of your list. You won’t regret it:
“If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions”. Matthew 6:14-15
