Last Hurrah - Imgflip

As I approach the final stretch of my business career and life, I know Riverboat Pete got me here—and that is how I plan to finish.

One irony is that my biggest gains came from behaving like a riverboat gambler in a business where failure is common, and while a key index of the stocks I traded and speculated on has remained flat for more than two decades.

Another irony is that the fundamentals for these stocks now support a more bullish supply-and-demand outlook than at any previous point.

For these and other reasons, I have decided to back up the truck one last time—without provoking my wife, Mary, to kill me. Between now and year-end, I believe an opportunity exists for those who can afford, both mentally and financially, to lose some or all of the capital they gamble/speculate on metals, mining, and exploration.

I will not repeat the case I have made over the past several weeks for why the fundamentals are stronger than at any point in my 42-plus-year career. The time to act has arrived. Although I moved earlier than I advised by buying back in before gold tested $4,000 or lower (a feat still possible and may end up the best thing by washing out many who never should have been in this in the first place). I am not personally concerned about a 10%–20% decline before potential triple-digit gains in 2027–28.

Retail speculators underperform in this sector for many reasons. For one, they invest aggressively based on forecasts that lack credible upside potential

There are a whole host of other factors, but one is not just for this sector but for equity investing in general – far too short time horizon:

General exposure to the mining sector is piss-poor at its absolute best fundamental period in my entire career.

For most folks, GDX and/or GDXJ is good enough.

For the minority like me, who won’t whine and blame others if they hear this after they put their bets down:

Here are the 4 gambles/speculations I own large stakes in:

  • Northisle Copper & Gold – Your choice is to either listen to the “Peanut Gallery” on Chat Forums or what the company last said publicly and the latest research report. I know who I’m going with because I greatly increased my position in recent days.
  • Radisson Mining – For me, Agnico Eagle recent placement is the beginning of the happy end I feel ends up nicely triple-digit higher in next 12-24 months
  • Group Eleven Resources – Very nice step out holes yet again. Grades appear quite economic. Fully funded for drilling into 2028
  • McFarlane Lake Mining – Eagerly await new drill results on a road to 10 million ounces+. Appears to have the size, grade and infrastructure in place to be at the top of many shopping lists

After twice achieving triple-digit gains across all my uranium stock picks over the past decade, I believe prices have fallen enough to justify adding them to a diversified metals portfolio. The stocks, entry prices, and accumulation strategy—whether based on price, dollar amount, or time—are personal choices. Although these deeply oversold stocks may see a nice technical rebound, widespread losses make them likely tax-loss-sale candidates, and they could fall from here by double digits before year-end.

The critical-minerals frenzy has also clearly ended, so these investments can be approached similarly.

I’ll discuss this in detail on my X page over the coming days and weeks but expect little or no follow-up after the New Year. I’m running out of time to fully pursue my calling: much more God and finance, and far less gold and finance.
