My hope is to make Sunday, October 18th, a meaningful day for my family, friends, guests, and me by hosting New York Jets legend and Hall of Famer Joe Klecko, along with his son Dan Klecko, a three-time Super Bowl champion, at a Jets vs. Patriots Watch Party to be announced.

This event would help me accomplish several meaningful goals:

  • For more than 25 years, I have spent as much time with Joe Klecko as with nearly anyone outside my wife and daughter. Our families have vacationed together and shared countless Sundays watching football at the Klecko home.
  • Joe first became a sports hero to me, but over time he became far more: a dear friend who stood by me through some of my darkest days. Our Catholic Christian faith has been at the heart of our friendship, along with our shared role as co-chairmen of the “I Married Way Up” Club.
  • At this stage of our lives and careers, my wife and I are focused on giving back, both personally and professionally. We have supported several worthy charities, often by bringing longtime relationships with professional athletes into fundraising events we have hosted. My hope is for one of those organizations to benefit from this event, with Joe and Dan joining attendees to watch the game, sign autographs, and take photos.
  • My daughter Tara grew up with the Klecko’s, had the blessing of attending games with them, and naturally became a die-hard, long-suffering Jets fan. She married a man from the Boston area who, of course, is a devoted New England Patriots fan. It would be a true blessing if they could attend with my newborn first grandchild, who I am told is certain of only one thing: she will not be an Eagles fan, thank God. To keep my son-in-law from bragging about the Patriots’ six Super Bowl titles, I play just two things for him:

       1 – Beat Him Twice

      2 – Eli’s Coming
