“The real Social Security crisis is the government does not have the money to redeem its IOUs.” Paul Craig Roberts
While almost all politicians dare not put their foot on the third rail by discussing the crisis with Social Security, or even the bigger issue, a retirement crisis that is snowballing daily, we just learned that the Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds, are now expected to be depleted even sooner, rather than later.
I urge you to read this and not take it lightly. My suggestion on Social Security to all who come to our planning group is very simple:
“Take it as soon as you can, get what you can, and don’t expect much, if any, depending on your age, income, and wealth level, within 5 or less years.”
This will only greatly compound the on-going “Retirement Crisis”:
- The retirement issue most Americans don’t see coming: Spending their savings.
- The Retirement Crisis Is Going From Bad To Worst.
